Coming Out Monologues is best described as “social activism through theatre.” The event is comprised of monologues scripted by Jacksonville locals. These original pieces may be performed by their creator or by another actor, so come watch these stories of love, family and other moving topics come to life. The event will be held at WJCT, 100 Festival Park Avenue, in studio A on Friday and Saturday. The show begins at 7 p.m. on Friday and at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday. Advance tickets are $25 and $30 at the door for all performances.
The force will awaken Friday at the St. Augustine Ampitheatre, at 1340C A1A. This week's free screening is “Star Wars: the Force Awakens” and begins at 8 p.m. For more information on the free weekly movie showings, visit the St. Augustine Ampitheatre website or call (904) 471-1965.
