The Jacksonville Arboretum and Gardens is hosting its third annual Abor“Eat”Um food and wine festival and arboretum fundraiser from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. More than 15 of Jacksonville’s favorite restaurants and breweries will be on hand to provide food and drinks. The event will also feature music by Sidetrack Duo. Individual tickets are $55 and couple’s tickets are $100. There is a 10 percent ticket price discount for members of the arboretum.
Martin Lawrence returns to the stage with his first stand-up tour in four years. The comedian/actor became a household name with his popular show “Martin,” and would later direct and star in his own series of “Big Momma’s House” movies. Lawrence is to perform at the Times-Union Center at 8 p.m. Friday. Tickets range in price from $35 to $105.
Celebrate eight years of brews with the Bold City Brew family, starting at 1 p.m. Saturday. During this celebration there will be live music, raffles, food and $2 pints. The live music will be provided by the Bold City Bandits, Firework Tent Revival, The Snacks Blues Band and Bay Street Band. The fun continues until 11 p.m. and tickets are not required to attend.
From 9 p.m. Saturday until 2 a.m. Sunday, you have the chance to save the last prom dance at The Clay County Fairgrounds, but with an undead twist. The Scream Park is presenting the event hosted by R. A. Meihaloff, the actor who portrayed Leatherface in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies. Admission is $45 and $67.50 for couples.
The Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville will be holding its 14th annual Buddy Walk, starting at 11 a.m. Saturday. The walk is at the Seawalk Pavilion in Jacksonville Beach. The event will include food trucks, carnival rides, live entertainment and much more. Online registration is closed, but walkers can register at the event for $20.
The Southern Women's Show returns to the Prime Osborn Convention Center.This event kicks off its four-day-event at 10 a.m. Thursday and continues until 5 p.m. Sunday. Guests have the chance to shop, learn new tips, try different food and engage in other fun activities. Guest speaker Keegan Allen from the hit tv show “Pretty Little Liars” will be speaking on Sunday. Online tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for children and $8 per person for a group of 10 or more people. Tickets at the event are $12 for adults, and $6 for children.
