Karen downgraded, rain expected: Tropical Storm Karen was downgraded to a depression after stalling in the Gulf of Mexico this weekend. Thunder storms are expected locally today and tomorrow stemming from remnants of the storm. (NPR)

Jax Jewish community remembers crash victim: Esther Ohayon, killed after being struck by a vehicle while crossing San Jose Blvd. on her way to Yom Kippur services last month, was remembered at a memorial service yesterday. (Florida Times-Union)
