Beaches Energy Services is installing new lighting in Jacksonville Beach parking lots to protect sea turtles. Their partnership with the Beaches Sea Turtle Patrol and annual #CleanDarkFlat Public Awareness Campaign aim to involve the public in protecting sea turtles.

Grocery store price hikes
Prices of grocery essentials like eggs, meat and dairy have gone up in the past year. According to the Consumer Price Index, they have risen 12% for the year ending in May, which is the largest year-over-year increase since 1979.

- The Junior Achievement of North Florida received a more than $76,000 grant from the Jim Moran Foundation to fund its newest program, JA Heroes. The program is in partnership with Duval County Public Schools and aims to enrich the education of middle school students by exposing them to college, careers and activities that support a bright future.
- The St. Johns Riverkeeper is hosting its annual Tiny Dock Concert this Fourth of July featuring the Let’s Ride Brass Band. The event runs from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
- The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens announced the opening of its new exhibition,Buddha and Shiva, Lotus and Dragon: Masterworks from the Mr. and Mrs. John D. Rockefeller 3rd Collection at Asia Society. This exhibition presents 67 pieces from the late 6th century BCE to the early 19th century CE that originate from Cambodia, China, India and other South and Eastern Asia countries. The exhibit opened to the public June 25 and runs through Sept. 18.
