Investigation of Kent Stermon

An investigation was released Friday into high-powered Republican insider Kent Stermon. The investigation found that if he were still alive, the 50-year-old Stermon would have been charged with the criminal offenses of solicitation for prostitution, false imprisonment, theft by false pretenses, unlawful use of a two-way communications device and obtaining by false representation.

Stermon took his own life in December while under investigation.

Jacksonville’s consolidation

The consolidated city of Jacksonville celebrated its 55th birthday Sunday. On Oct. 1,1968, the city of Jacksonville merged with Duval County to form a massive 874-square-mile city. Today, we delve into some of the issues that still affect our city.
