More Floridians have voted before Tuesday’s elections than in past primaries, yet hundreds of thousands of mail-in ballots have not been returned by voters.

South Florida’s mammoth Latino population for years has been a force politicians must reckon with and more recently the number of Central Florida Hispanics has likewise ballooned.

Three Duval County School Board seats are up for grabs this election cycle. The top-funded candidates in the each race — Nick Howland, David Chauncey and Darryl Willie — are also all endorsed by the political arm of JAX Chamber, JAXBIZ.

Early voting is underway across Florida right now as candidates for governor barnstorm the state hoping to get that final edge in the polls.

A University of North Florida poll released Thursday of likely Democratic primary voters shows incumbent District 5 Congressman Al Lawson with a commanding lead.
