Chris Christie Says More Help is on the Way for Gov. Scott

The Republican Governors Association has chipped in $8.5 million this summer toward Gov. Rick Scott's re-election effort.

And as he campaigned with Scott on Friday, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said the association, which he chairs, isn't done assisting the Sunshine State's governor.

Governor Rick Scott is making promises to invest more money into Florida's ports if he is re-elected this year. To help him deliver that promise at Port Tampa Bay Thursday was New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

If re-elected, Gov. Scott promises to invest a $1 billion over eight years into Florida's ports including Port Tampa Bay. Scott is likely to face democratic candidate and former governor Charlie Crist.

The ramp from Atlantic Boulevard and Philips Highway to Interstate 95 reopened in time for morning rush hour Friday after a day of heavy traffic across Jacksonville.

It's good to be Chris Christie these days.

Just a few weeks after his landslide re-election victory, the New Jersey governor won a second election this week: chairman of the Republican Governors Association.

The RGA chair is a largely ceremonial role, but in it, Christie will travel the country campaigning for other Republicans in gubernatorial races in 2014, a job that many see as groundwork for a potential White House run.
