Amateur Cycling National Championship Coming To Clay County This Summer

Clay County will serve as host for the USA Cycling Road Amateur National Championships this summer.

Cyclists and pedestrians will soon have a safer route across the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge on Atlantic Boulevard.

 

Bicycle Safety

The recent death of former Times-Union editorial writer Wayne Ezell shocked and saddened many in Jacksonville.

The 72-year-old Ezell died last week after his bicycle was struck by a pickup truck in Iowa. He was taking part in an annual seven-day Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, the oldest, largest and longest bicycle touring event in the world.

A Ponte Vedra Beach woman is asking for help finding an SUV driver who struck her while she was riding her bike two weeks ago.

After a five-day hospital stay, 58-year-old Gretchen Seth is home recovering from a broken leg.

Seth’s is not a simple case of hit-and-run.

Marco Invernizzi is bicycling around the world. He left his home in Italy in late July and set off across Europe, then down the East Coast of the U.S.

He’s spending Labor Day Weekend in Jacksonville. “It’s a very beautiful city," Invernizzi said.
