Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis confirmed Friday he will lower the age requirement to receive the coronavirus vaccine some time in March.


A new coronavirus vaccination site is opening in Jacksonville at Edward Waters College. The Historically Black College will distribute about 200 doses of the Moderna vaccine per day and will prioritize residents of the New Town neighborhood where the school is located.

The coronavirus vaccine will have been offered to every resident of Florida’s 4,000 long-term-care facilities by the end of this month, according to Gov.  Ron DeSantis.

At a Saturday morning press conference, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said the overall trend for hospitalizations for COVID-19 in the state is “going in a good direction.”
