The Jacksonville Jaguars unveiled the NFL’s first in-stadium dog park on Monday, which officials say will help raise tens of thousands of dollars for the Jacksonville Humane Society.

TALLAHASSEE — Sports franchises wouldn't be able to build or renovate stadiums on publicly owned land under a measure that won House approval Thursday.

The Daily’s Place Amphitheatre is set to open next to EverBank Field in downtown Jacksonville in May.

The new venue is slated to host a lineup of musical acts, including the Doobie Brothers and the Dave Matthews Band.

Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. Saturday in the TaxSlayer Bowl college football game. The University of Kentucky will play Georgia Tech at EverBank Field. Then, fans are invited to a street party to ring in the new year.

Upwards of 75,000 fans are expected to attend the Navy Academy vs. Notre Dame game at Everbank Field on Saturday.

Rick Catlett, president of JAXSPORTS, which is hosting the event along with the city,  said he is excited for “this iconic football game between the Naval Academy and Notre Dame — (the) longest intersectional rivalry in the history of college football,” to be played in Jacksonville.
