White-collar crime turned human when two Jacksonville men told jurors Wednesday they cashed checks worth thousands of dollars and handed most of the money to a woman behind the payments, former City Council member Katrina Brown.

Florida CFO Jimmy Patronis, joined by Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams and Mayor Lenny Curry, anouncing the city's participating in Fraud Free Florida.

Jacksonville has joined Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis’ Fraud Free Florida initiative, a partnership designed to improve investigative efforts to fight fraud in the state.

A state representative from Jacksonville has been indicted on embezzlement charges.

Dist. 13 Rep. Reggie Fullwood, D-Jacksonville, 41, was charged with 10 counts of wire fraud and four counts of failure to file federal income tax returns, U.S. Attorney A. Lee Bentley III announced the charges Friday.
