People who are 40 and older are now eligible for the coronavirus vaccine in Florida, and at Jacksonville’s two major vaccination sites, the lines were short when WJCT News stopped by  and people’s spirits were high.

Anyone who brings a senior can get vaccinated for a limited time only this Saturday, March 13,  at the Gateway Town Center.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis confirmed Friday he will lower the age requirement to receive the coronavirus vaccine some time in March.

A federally run COVID-19 vaccination site opened Wednesday at Gateway Town Center on the Northside. The site is operated by FEMA, but the shots are being administered by 139 military personnel, many of them from Naval Hospital Jacksonville.

The Biden Administration announced Friday it would partner with Florida to open four new community vaccination centers, one of which will be in Jacksonville.

Rowe’s Decides Against Opening Supermarket In Publix Space At Gateway Town Center

Rowe’s IGA Supermarkets owner Rob Rowe said Sunday he will not take over the Publix space at Gateway Town Center.

Gateway Town Center is up for sale, with an asking price of $12 million.

Sulzbacher Center


A proposed $18.5 million community for the homeless being planned by the Sulzbacher Homeless Center will be the subject of a public discussion tonight.

The project is called Sulzbacher Village, and it’s supposed to house up to 340 people, the Times-Union reported in October.
