Local officials gathered with families of Jacksonville Sheriff's Office officers who have died in the line of duty for Police Memorial Day today.
The memorial is held every year to honor the fallen. 60 officers have lost their lives on duty in Jacksonville history.
Due to rainy weather, the public ceremony, usually held on Bay Street in front of the Police Memorial Building, was moved inside.
The JSO Honor Guard performed a 21-gun salute. Sheriff John Rutherford and Fraternal Order of Police President Steve Amos placed a memorial wreath in remembrance.
