BRUNSWICK, GEORGIA — After a six-day trial of a Brunswick pastor on sexual molestation charges, a Glynn County jury deliberated less than an hour Monday, finding Ken Atkins guilty of all charges.

Monday on “First Coast Connect” we talked about the trial of pastor Ken Adkins in Glynn County, Georgia, with attorney Jimmy Midyette. In honor of Victims Rights Week we spoke with Quigley House CEO Peggy Payne and we heard about the growth in the state’s nonprofit sector with Florida Nonprofit Alliance Executive Director Sabeen Perwaiz.

Controversial conservative Pastor Ken Adkins was arrested and charged with child molestation relating to an incident in 2010, the Georgia Bureau of Investigations announced Friday.

Georgia pastor Ken Adkins and other black clergymen are calling for a Duval County judge to step down over allegations he made racist comments.

But the motives of the clergymen are being called into question because Adkins is a paid political consultant for the judge’s re-election opponent, attorney Gerald Wilkerson.
