The chair of Gov.-elect Ron DeSantis’ Transition Advisory Committee on the Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture says the environment will be a priority under the DeSantis administration.

In an interview with the Palm Beach Post, Florida Governor-elect, Ron DeSantis, said that Amendment 4, approved by 64.55 percent of the state’s voters, should not go into effect until “implementing language” is approved by the Legislature and then signed by him.

For the second time, Ron DeSantis can declare victory in the 2018 Florida governor’s race.

While a recount continues in his race for governor, Republican Ron DeSantis’ transition team Monday announced staff members who would help set up his administration.

DeSantis last week announced leadership of the transition team, with Susie Wiles serving as executive director. Wiles chaired his gubernatorial campaign.

Based on Thursday afternoon unofficial election returns, it's looking like the governor's race is headed toward a recount along with the high profile U.S. Senate and Agriculture Commissioner races.

Susie Wiles, who chaired Republican Ron DeSantis’ successful gubernatorial campaign, will oversee his transition into the top statewide office.

Ron Desantis has narrowly defeated Andrew Gillum to become the next governor of Florida. 

One of the counties that Gillum carried was Duval, with more than 51 percent of votes cast.

Andrew Gillum continues to lead in the latest governor’s race poll from the Public Opinion Research Lab at the University of North Florida.

The poll of likely voters, released Tuesday, shows 49 percent of respondents plan to vote for Gillum, the Democratic nominee, while 43 percent plan to vote for the Republican candidate, Ron DeSantis. Seven percent of voters said they are undecided.

The first question in Wednesday’s second and final debate between Florida gubernatorial candidates Andrew Gillum and Ron DeSantis focused on the divisive nature of the country’s political discourse.

A new Quinnipiac Poll shows Democratic Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum with a six point lead over his Republican counterpart, former U.S. Representative Ron DeSantis, in the increasingly tight race to become Florida’s next governor.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis picked up an endorsement from Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams Thursday morning at the Fallen Officers Memorial Wall in downtown Jacksonville.

The Everglades Trust’s endorsement of Republican gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis is startling some environmentalists and political observers.

One of the Everglades Trust’s three board members opposed the endorsement in an interview with The Gainesville Sun. Jon Mills told the paper he will support Democrat Andrew Gillum.

Other environmental groups like the Sierra Club are endorsing Gillum.
