A school security guard at Highlands Middle School on the Northside was arrested Thursday on a child abuse charge stemming from an incident involving a student, Duval County Public Schools officials said.

Rumors Fly About Threats At First Coast High

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Concerns are growing among parents of First Coast High School amid rumors that someone is planning a shooting on campus. Social media posts indicate there will be a gang-initiation shooting at the school this week.

Last week, Duval County Superintendent Nikolai Vitti sent robo-calls to parents' phones that there would be additional police presence and possible searches and other security measures.

UPDATE: Police ID Suspect In Jacksonville School Bus Shooting

Update May 15, 1:35 p.m.: The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is looking for one person they believe to be the shooter in Thursday's bus incident. After speaking with witnesses, JSO has identified 16-year-old Edgar Robles as the suspect. Robles is believed to be armed and dangerous. 

Two female students are in stable condition after they were shot Thursday afternoon while riding on a school bus on 118th Street on Jacksonville's Westside.
