Clay and St. Johns counties announced Wednesday that more COVID vaccine appointments will soon be available after they received more doses.

Clay County Begins Scheduling New Appointments At 3 p.m. Wednesday

Clay County Emergency Management and the Florida Department of Health in Clay County have received 1,950 additional doses of COVID-19 vaccine and will begin accepting vaccination appointments on Wednesday, January 20, at 3 p.m.

Earth Fare Supermarket To Reopen At Shoppes Of St. Johns Parkway

Earth Fare, the natural and organic grocer, announced Jan. 14 it will reopen in St. Johns County.

St. Johns County has another 500 doses of the coronavirus vaccine it plans to administer this Friday.

St. Johns County has run out of COVID-19 vaccine doses and officials don’t expect another shipment for at least a week.

The Florida Department of Health in St. Johns County is now vaccinating people 65 and older after receiving its first shipment of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. However, new appointments are not currently being accepted, the county said, and people should "check back this weekend" for further information.

A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for Clay and Putnam counties  due to Tropical Storm Eta. The storm is expected to affect the First Coast as a depression beginning overnight on Thursday, with the worst effects expected in Jacksonville around sunrise on Thursday.

Conditions are expected to rapidly improve by Thursday afternoon across most areas of the state.
