More than 10,000 surfers and supporters are asking St. Johns County officials to reopen public beaches on a limited basis, while another petition is asking Gov. Ron DeSantis to declare surfing an “essential activity" statewide. 

While the list of closures and social restrictions grows in hopes of slowing the spread of coronavirus, high school seniors in Clay County have fingers crossed that they’ll get to walk with their classmates this May.
