The state plans to start collecting tolls on the initial segment of the First Coast Expressway next month.

When it’s complete, the 46-mile expressway will connect I-10 in Duval County with I-95 in St. Johns County.

The Florida Transportation Department is studying the feasibility of adding express toll lanes on I-95 in both directions between J. Turner Butler Boulevard and Atlantic Boulevard.

Time is running out for about 100,000 SunPass customers to convert, for free, to new transponders.

Older, battery-operated transponders used for Florida toll roads and some bridges become obsolete with the New Year.

SunPass Now Available In Rest Area Vending Machines

Those planning a trip on Florida's major highways have a new way to sign up for the state's electronic toll system.

SunPass can now be purchased at the vending machines at three Official Florida Welcome Centers and an Interstate 4 rest area.

According to a release from Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise, the turnpike is offering SunPass transponders in vending machines through a partnership with VISIT FLORIDA, the state's official tourism marketing corporation.
