The rivalry between Florida State University and University of Florida is fierce across many endeavors – and it also exists in the arena of performing arts.

A cappella teams from the two universities are facing off against each other in a 64-team, tournament-style competition along with colleges across the U.S.

Florida State University’s a cappella team, All Night Yahtzee, has 17 members who are looking to advance from the second round.

Nearly half of former National Football League players who used opioids in 2010 continue to use them today, and nearly 60% of them experience moderate to severe depressive symptoms, a University of Florida study shows.

Thirty-four people at Florida A&M and 129 people at Florida State University have tested positive for COVID-19 since the start of August. Both schools are trying to keep the numbers down through restrictions on large gatherings. FAMU has even instituted a curfew on students who live on-campus, though President Larry Robinson says he’s not yet had to suspend or expel any students for violating it.

With new regulations put in place by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) regarding international students, some universities are saying they’ll change their Fall 2020 schedules to keep them from having to leave the country.

The University of Florida is announcing multiple “strategic goals” to combat racism and racial inequities on its Gainesville campus.

TALLAHASSEE --- The University of Florida Board of Trustees is asking a federal judge to toss out a potential class-action lawsuit that contends the school should be required to refund tuition and fees to students after closing its campus in March because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Attorneys for the trustees last week filed a 17-page motion to dismiss the case, which alleges breach of contract and “unjust enrichment” by the university after students were forced to take online classes to finish the spring semester.
