Dana Greyson has lived most of her life in the Pacific Northwest. In 2005, she met her husband, Walt, through a friend. 

Rocky Ray Graves was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas to a baseball family – his father named him after Rocky Colavito, an outfielder for the Cleveland Indians. Rocky Graves knew from the age of 6 that he wanted to be a baseball player.

When Adam Dew was a kid, he had the same ideas of what he would do when he grew up that other kids had: pilot, astronaut. 

But Adam’s father was a Marine, and Adam had heard about the Corps his entire life. 

“The Marine recruiter was different. I got the feeling that they expected more from me than the other services did,” said Dew.

Adam Dew enlisted in the Marine Corps before his senior year of high school, and was on a waiting list until graduation. He graduated on June 1, and flew out of Jacksonville to basic training five days later.

Dan Shafer’s life changed during a single week five years ago. At the beginning of the week, he was a motivated and successful salesman for a well-known truck manufacturer. On Wednesday, he was given an award in California for being one of the company’s top five salesmen.

On Friday, all five of the top salesmen – including Dan – were told that their services were no longer required.

A few years ago, Michelle Gilliam and the man who’s now her husband lived and worked near New York City, Michelle in media and her then-boyfriend for a shipping company. Her boyfriend was transferred to Jacksonville, and Michelle was in love. She came with him to Jacksonville and they married.

Frank Green has dedicated his life to the craft of fiction. He’s a teacher and a coach and he’s still learning the craft himself.

Ernie Boyett has painted the airplanes and now is writing the memoirs  of World War II pilots he interviewed. But Ernie has had 3 heart attacks and is racing against a ticking clock to finish his work.

Marlo Zarka learned how to grow plants, and her career took her through nonprofits and government work. Now, as a professional coach, she grows people... and finds that it’s a lot like growing plants.

Since coming to Northeast Florida from England, Vanessa Cunningham has worked in her father’s pub, in health care, in real estate development and she thinks the best is yet to come.

Mike Stowers started a food provisioning business out of his house in Riverside. 18 years later, the business is well known to the area’s top chefs, but Mike’s goal is to keep it small enough that he knows his clients personally.

Harrison Minchew is a landscape architect who specializes in golf course design. Not as many  golf courses are being built now as in previous years, but residential landscape is as important as ever.
