1) Sunday, September 8 — You've waited months for this week, and this day. It's the first home game at Everbank Field of the 2013-2014 NFL season as the Jacksonville Jaguars take on the Kansas City Chiefs. Kickoff is 1 p.m. More info at Jaguars.com.

1) Sunday, September 1 — If you are what you eat, there will be a lot of jerks walking around downtown on Sunday. Jacksonville’s First Annual Jerk Food Festival will kick off Sunday at 10 a.m. at Metropolitan Park. There will be music and food all day. More info on Facebook.

A new event is taking place this weekend on Jacksonville’s Northside. 

The Northside LOVE Arts and Vendors Market seeks to build bridges in the community. It’s a family- friendly event supporting the north side of town. The fun begins Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Lonnie C. Miller Regional Park.

1) Saturday, August 24 — The art, food, and music of India and Africa come together at Underbelly for the release of Ivory Lounge, produced by Cyrus Quaranta. Featured artists include Nan Nkama African Drum & Dance Ensemble, Rhythm Bazaar and a 30-man drum circle conducted by African-style percussionist Adrian Rhodes.
