Jacksonville Man Accused Of Trying To Defraud FEMA

A 31-year-old Jacksonville man faces federal fraud charges for allegedly submitting a false claim for government disaster aid following Hurricane Irma.

According to the U-S Attorney for Florida’s Middle District, Erick Williams was indicted for lying about where he lived on his application to the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

His trial is set for June 4.

If convicted, Williams could be sentenced to 5-years in federal prison and ordered to repay the government.
