Ortega River Drawbridge Motorists Will Face Detours Wednesday

The Ortega River Drawbridge is undergoing a $1.5 million restoration.

Maintenance work on the Ortega River Drawbridge on Jacksonville’s Westside will mean traffic detours this week for motorists on State Road 211.

The Florida Department of Transportation says the work is scheduled for Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting. Detour signs will be posted.

Work on the 90-year old drawbridge is part of a more than $1.5 million restoration project that is expected to wrap up in December.
