Boaters expecting both sides of St. Augustine’s Bridge of Lions to open for them to pass are in for some inconvenience in coming weeks.

The Florida Department of Transportation has announced crews will be cleaning and painting the bridge as part of a nearly $1.5 million rehabilitation project.

Because of that, bridge operations will be limited to half-span openings between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. until June 10.

Full-span operations will continue during the maintenance project during nighttime and overnight hours.
