CSX Train Derails, Blocks Highway, In Glynn County, Georgia

The train did not tip over into a wetland area when it derailed.

A CSX train derailed Friday from the track near the end of Buffalo Road at the crossing of Highway 99 near Anguilla, Ga., in a rural part of Glynn County.

The cars were upright and posed no danger to people living in the area, according to a Glynn County spokesman.

Highway 99 in the area was closed Friday afternoon while crews worked. Motorists were detoured along Highway 32 or Highway 82.

Train cars are stopped after some of their wheels slipped off the track in Glynn County.
