The U.S. Forest Service is burning nearly 3,000 acres in the Osceola National Forest in Baker County on Monday.

Rangers said the prescribed burn will improve wildlife habitat, eliminate vegetation build up, and reduce the future threat of wildfires.

Motorists are cautioned to drive slowly with their lights on while traveling in smoky areas.

Special care is also called for in the early morning hours when fog and smoke together can make it especially difficult for drivers to see.
