The St. Johns County fishing pier in St. Augustine Beach reopens to the public Friday morning.

Daily admission starts at $2 while annual passes range from $20 for the disabled and the military to $60 for non-residents.

The St. Johns County pier, gift shop and visitor center was closed for five months so that boards, guard rails, posts, support beams and exposed piles could be replaced, a  $780,000 renovation project that’s expected to extend the life of the pier by as much as 10 years.
