American Technical Ceramics has informed Mayor Lenny Curry and the state it expects to eliminate approximately 80 Jacksonville jobs in November.

The telecommunications manufacturer started laying off Jacksonville employees in April of 2019, followed by another wave in August of last year. The layoffs have been part of a relocation to the company’s AVX Myrtle Beach (S.C.) operation. American Technical Ceramics is a subsidiary of AVX Corp.

American Technical Ceramics Human Resources Manager Pamela Reese said in a letter to the state and mayor that November’s layoffs will mark the final phase of the company’s thin film group division layoffs.

American Technical Ceramics is located at 2201 Corporate Square Blvd. on the Southside between the Holiday Hill and Regency areas.
