Meet 'America's Top Young Scientist': Sarah Park, a ninth grader from Jacksonville

Sarah Park, a 14-year-old ninth grader from Jacksonville, has been named "America's Top Young Scientist" after creating a device that uses artificial intelligence to gauge the body's response to music, as a way to guide music therapy.

She was one of 10 finalists, ages 12 to 14, in the 2021 3M Young Scientist Challenge. It comes with a $25,000 prize.

Sarah, a student at The Bolles School, entered the contestwith her invention, called Spark Care+, working with a mentor scientist from 3M.
