Demolition due for Morocco Shrine Center

The Morocco Shrine Temple exhibition hall was built in 1985 and expanded in 1990.

The 38-year-old Morocco Shrine Center along St. Johns Bluff Road is coming down.

A permit issued by the city Friday shows ELEV8 Land Clearing & Demolition of Atlantic Beach will demolish the one- and two-story structure at 3800 St. Johns Bluff Road S. at a cost of $471,000.

The 36-acre site is being prepared for redevelopment into a hotel, student housing, multifamily housing, commercial and retail uses.
