Continuing a trend in recent months, Gov. Rick Scott’s Let’s Get to Work political committee spent $95,235 during January while raising only $10,000, according to a newly filed finance report.

During the past four months, the committee has spent nearly $2.6 million, while raising about $150,000.

Let’s Get to Work has played a major role for Scott since his initial campaign for governor in 2010, providing tens of millions of dollars to help fuel his political efforts. But with Scott barred from running again for governor this year, the committee had about $338,000 on hand as of Jan. 31, the finance report shows.

Most of the expenditures in January went for consulting, travel and other relatively routine costs.

The largest amount, $26,606, went to Maryland-based OnMessage, Inc. for consulting-related expenses, the report shows.

Scott is widely expected to run for the U.S. Senate this year, and the Times/Herald Tallahassee bureau reported Monday that he was slated to be in California early this week raising money for the New Republican Super PAC, which seeks to boost President Donald Trump and the GOP.
