Florida Matters Preview: Birding In Tampa Bay

Prothonotary Warbler, or as Mary Keith with the Tampa Audubon Society calls it, "flying liquid gold."
Doug DeNeve

This week on Florida Matters we're talking about bird-watching in the Tampa Bay area and the people who make it their hobby – or life passion.

In this preview, host Robin Sussingham talks with Mary Keith, President of the Tampa Audubon Society and Ann Paul, Regional Coordinator for Audubon's Florida Coastal Islands Sanctuaries, about whether there is a certain personality type to "birders."

We also hear about the beautiful but elusive Prothonotary Warbler, which helped convert some local residents into bird-lovers during recent trips to Lettuce Lake Park in Tampa.
