Election Day Rides
Polling places open at 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Organizers of Sunday’s souls-to-the-polls event in Jacksonville are offering free rides to voters who need a lift.
Pastor R.L. Gundy, with the African-American Ministers Leadership Council, said they’ve got 25 vans and buses to get people to and from their polling places.
“Call our number we’ll take them to the polls,” Gundy said. “... We don’t care what party they are, if they call we’ll go all over the city and take people to the polls. And that’s being fair to everybody.”
To request a free ride to the polls, call (904) 208-0727 or (904) 208-0841.
Thanks to Voto Latino Florida, voters can be eligible to receive a free ride to their polling locations through Uber and Lyft. Text GOVOTE to 73179, and if you are an existing Uber user you can use the code GoVoteFL.
