A week into early voting, Republicans in Northeast Florida are going to the polls in far greater numbers than Democrats.
A total of 56,348 Republicans had voted as of Monday morning compared with 31,313 Democrats in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns counties. Unaffiliated voters totaled 11,474.
The numbers included 27,514 Republicans in Duval County, 23,513 Democrats and 6,476 No Party Affiliation.
Statewide, 461,547 Republicans have voted early, 257,165 Democrats and 137,026 unaffiliated. Another 1.9 million people voted by mail — more Democrats than Republicans.
Early voting continues through Nov. 5 in all of Northeast Florida except Duval County, where it ends Nov. 6.
Early voters can vote at any early voting site in their county. On Election Day, which is Nov. 8, you must vote at your assigned polling place.
