Paul McCartney Coming To Jacksonville

PaulMcCartney.com

Paul McCartney, one of the two remaining founders of legendary rock group The Beatles, will play his only Florida gig this summer in Jacksonville.

McCartney, commonly referred to by fans as "Macca," is scheduled to perform at Jacksonville's Veterans Memorial Arena on Sunday, June 22. Tickets will go on sale to the general public Friday, April 25, with a pre-sale starting Thursday, April 17 for those registered at PaulMcCartney.com.

Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown announced the event at the arena this morning.

“Jacksonville will welcome one of the biggest names in modern music, pop music royalty, rock 'n' roll icon,  Sir Paul McCartney is coming to Jacksonville," he said to applause.

McCartney’s only previous performances in Jacksonville are four-song set at the half-time show of Super Bowl XXXIX in 2005, and a 1964 Beatles performance at the Gator Bowl, the only show they ever played in Florida.
