President Obama recently awarded Krista Tippett, host of the public radio program "On Being," with the National Humanities Medal.In announcing the award, the White House cited Tippett’s achievements in “thoughtfully delving into the mysteries of human existence.”
"On Being" is heard on more than 330 U.S. public radio stations and globally by podcast. The show covers a broad range of topics, drawing out scientists, theologians, poets, artists, and activists.
Melissa Ross spoke with Tippett about the honor, and why she sees such a demand for a national discussion about faith.
