Coming Out Monologues 2016

Coming Out Monologues is best described as “social activism through theatre.” The event is comprised of monologues scripted by Jacksonville locals. These original pieces may be performed by their creator or by another actor, so come watch these stories of love, family and other moving topics come to life. The event will be held at WJCT, 100 Festival Park Avenue, in studio A on Friday and Saturday. The show begins at 7 p.m. on Friday and at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday. Advance tickets are $25 and $30 at the door for all performances.

Night Owl Cinema Series

 

The force will awaken Friday at the St. Augustine Ampitheatre, at 1340CA1A. This week's free screening is “Star Wars: the Force Awakens” and begins at 8 p.m. For more information on the free weekly movie showings, visit the St. Augustine Ampitheatre website or call (904) 471-1965.

Mutts and Mimosas

Blackfinn Ameripub and Friends of Jacksonville Animals will host Mutts and Mimosas on Saturday, an event to help shelter animals. Beginning at 11 a.m., enjoy a brunch buffet and mimosas at Blackfinn Ameripub in Town Center. Purchase a $25 ticket ahead of time and receive brunch and a single mimosa, or purchase a $30 ticket and enjoy bottomless mimosas with your brunch buffet. Add $5 for tickets on the day of the event. A silent auction and raffle will also be held. FOJA is accepting donations of wet dog and cat foods, large dog toys and other items to ensure a better life for Jacksonville's sheltered animals. Salt Life Fest

Another day of music and dancing, local food and good vibes will take place at the Seawalk Pavilion in Jacksonville Beach on Saturday. Admission is free, although VIP tickets, which include a private food and beverage area and other extra features, are available. Start the day off with sunrise yoga hosted by Big Fish Yoga and ease into the afternoon with jams starting at noon. The Band Be Easy and Roosevelt Collier will be performing, amongst others, so check out the lineup at the event’s official website. Come celebrate living the Salt Life.

Fore Father's Day

Celebrate Father's Day at the World Golf Hall of Fame & Museum in St. Augustine. All guests will receive free admission, including a free round on the putting course for all dads. Win prizes between noon and 3 p.m., including a 2-Day Lite Training at the PGA TOUR Golf Academy, a stay at the Seaside Amelia Inn and a round of golf at The Golf Club on Amelia Island for two.
