Green Bay Packers vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars will begin the regular season against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday at EverBank Field. Besides the usual football festivities downtown during gameday, the Jaguars will show a 9/11 tribute during halftime. The tribute will feature photos of local military personnel and first responders in remembrance of those affected by 9/11. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

Jacksonville’s own craft beer fest is from 12-10 p.m. Saturday at the SeaWalk Pavilion at Jacksonville Beach. This event will be a celebration of the growing North Florida craft beer scene, and features the top breweries from surrounding areas. More than 20 breweries will be on site featuring over 60 different types of beer. The event includes unlimited beer sampling, live music, games, food and a beer garden. Tickets begin at $30.

Douglas Anderson School of the Arts Pops Concert: Heroes & Villains
The Douglas Anderson School of the Arts is hosting a Wind Bands Pops concert with a Heroes and Villains: Music of the Movies theme at 7 p.m. Saturday. Costumes are encouraged. Tickets are $10 each or $5 if dressed in costume at the door. All the proceeds will support the band’s travel to Chicago in December for the international Midwest Clinic.

The Jacksonville Humane Society will be promoting free pet adoptions from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The two locations are the Jacksonville Humane Society and Animal Care & Protective Services. It is sponsored by Best Friend Animal Society. They are calling it two groovy days of peace, love and pet adoptions that you don’t want to miss.

The St Johns Town Center is hosting a kickoff party for the 15-day food extravaganza known as Sip & Savor. The party takes place at 4 p.m. Saturday at the St. Johns Town Center between Coach and Brooks Brothers. During this free event, guests will have the opportunity to learn more about the Sip & Savor Jax event while enjoying cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, fun activities for the whole family and giveaways. Live entertainment will be brought to you by Rachel Warfield and The Chris Thomas Band. This event ends at 9 pm so be sure to get there early.

Garden Concert: Featuring Patrick Evan & Mama Blue
An evening of blues and jazz under the stars is what guests can expect to experience at The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens starting at 6 p.m. Saturday. Doors for this event opens at 5 p.m. with live performances by Mama Blue, at 6 pm. Patrick Evan will perform at 7:45 pm. Blankets, chairs, food and alcoholic beverages are allowed or the Cummer Museum can pack a picnic basket if ordered in advance. This event is $25 for non-members and $20 for members.
