A trio of Southern rock stars will be among the those on stage for a benefit concert in Clay County next month to raise money for local Hurricane Irma Victims.
Jim Signorile, the vice president of the military support nonprofit St. Michael's Soldiers, says he teamed with the county as well as local and corporate sponsors for what’s being called the “Help Somebody If You Can” concert.”
“The bill came together very quickly and we got the organizations we wanted to give the money to it’s just something that needs to be done and we’re going to give all the money from the relief to Recovering Clay and Safe Animal Shelter and Friends of Clay County Animals,” said Signorlie, whose nonprofit based in Middleburg.
Those organizations will be responsible for making sure funds are distributed to Clay County residents.
Signorile says that the concert line up will include performances from national and local artists, all showing up for the cause.
“We had Johnny and Donnie Van Zant lined up from Lynyrd Skynyrd and 38 Special, Bobby Ingram from Molly Hatch. Overwhelming support from The Curt Towne Band and Pinto Graham out of Connecticut and Heavy Petty, which is a Tom Petty tribute group.”
