Governor Rick Scott joined St. Johns County officials on Monday to cut the ribbon on the new corporate headquarters for Advanced Disposal in Nocatee. The company is expanding and will eventually bring an additional 85 jobs to the area.
Advanced Disposal also considered downtown Jacksonville, Atlanta, Milwaukee and Charlotte as relocation sites.
Chairman and CEO Charlie Appleby says the Nocatee location was a great fit for the needs of the company.
Gov. Scott says the company remaining in northeast Florida shows the state continues to be a good place to grow business.
Advanced Disposal recently acquired two other waste services companies, making it the largest privately-owned environmental services provider in the country. It has over three million residential and commercial customers in 20 states and the Bahamas.
