Record Crowds Expected For Players Championship; Plan Ahead For Parking

PGA Tour

The Players Championship gets underway next week at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach.

TPC Executive Director Matt Rapp says last year’s golf tournament set records, and that was without Tiger Woods.

So with Woods’ returning to the tournament this year, Rapp says attendance could be even higher.

“We are expecting record crowds, especially Thursday, Friday, Saturday. So plan how you’re going to get out here,” Rapp said. “Hopefully taking one of the shuttle buses from downtown or one of the clubs out here at the beach or carpooling are your answers.”

Carpooling to the Players Championship can also save big bucks. That’s because vehicles with four or more riders get to park for free.

The Players Championship tees up on Tuesday, May 5, and lasts through Sunday, May 10.
