The largest colocation data center in Jacksonville has been acquired.

St. Louis-based TierPoint has bought CxP Datacenters in Jacksonville for $11 million. Part of the reason for the acquisition is the 121,000 square foot facility CxP has in the area.

That building is hurricane resistant and includes space for cloud computer hosting and support service. It’s one of several such centers in Jacksonville, which has become a player in the data center business in recent yeas.

The acquisition is the eighth made by TierPoint, which now owns more than 365,000 square feet of data center space.
