Nippers Beach Grille Declares Bankruptcy
When the founder of Nippers Beach Grille opened the now-popular eatery four years ago, he had high hopes for the property. Issues with capitalization and the fallout of a shooting in the restaurant's parking lot last year have left their mark, and the restaurant has now declared bankruptcy.
According to filings with the court, the business owes about $1.1 million, mostly in state, local and federal taxes.
But there is a silver line, owner Rudy Theale told the Business Journal. He's in talks with a group of investors about selling the restaurant, and the new owners would be looking at expanding the eatery into a chain.
