After years of struggle, a Jacksonville entertainment venue has shut its doors.
Restaurant and entertainment center Latitude 360 shut down its operations in Jacksonville and Indianapolis this week.
The Jacksonville location was off Philips Highway across from the Avenues Mall. The closure comes after the landlord sued the company, saying it owed almost $6 million in past rent and other charges.
The company was once a high-flying operation, with planned locations in Atlantic City and on Wall Street in New York. In recent days, though, financial woes erupted in several of its locations, with sales taxes and music-license fees not being paid.
In the wake of the closure, though, founder Brent Brown was optimistic.
“It enables us to move forward and grow the brand," Brown told the Business Journal. "We want to continue to expand.”
