A major retailer is shutting down one of its handful of locations on the First Coast.

The parent company of Sears said Thursday that it was closing down its Regency Square Mall this summer, part of an effort to deal with an ongoing drop in sales. Two Kmarts will also be closed.

That will leave one Kmart in the area and four Sears.

All told, across the country, Sears Holdings is shutting down 68 Kmarts and 10 Sears stores.

Sears Holdings have seen sales decline every year for the past decade, with net losses in the billions.
