Jax Zoo & Gardens Hosts Garden Festival

jacksonville.com

The Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens is providing guests access to plant vendors not normally open to the public.

The inaugural Garden Festival is Saturday, May 18, with general admission from 10:00am-4:00pm and a members preview from 9:00-10:00am.

Guests will have the opportunity to interact with over 30 plant vendors who will be selling plants and giving out information about plants and gardening.

There will also be live music, beer and wine.  Guests who bring their Garden Festival ticket to the Zoo will receive $1 off admission for the day.

"Gardening is not only a way to beautify our surroundings, it can also enhance our environment and personal growth by choosing specific fertilizers, reducing the use of pesticides, increasing the use of organics and water conservation such as rain barrels," says Special Events and Public Relations Supervisor Amy Hernden.
