Job Seekers: Three Job Fairs On The First Coast Monday

There are 3 job fairs taking place in Jacksonville today.

Congresswoman Corrine Brown and Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown are hosting this year’s one-day Job and Resource Fair at the Prime Osborn Convention Center.

Mayor Brown says the current 6-and-half percent jobless rate means there are still more than 30,000 people who are looking for work on the First Coast.

"This job fair will allow people to apply for those positions that are open. There are over 100 companies that are looking for people to hire the people, to put people back to work," says Brown. "So if you’re looking for a job, you should show up Monday morning at the Prime Osborn Convention Center. This is very important. It’s a great opportunity for people who are looking for a job."

Brown says people who need help with their resumes should show up at 7:45 this morning.

You can find more information on the City of Jacksonville's page.

Florida State College at Jacksonville and Work Source Florida are hosting a virtual job fair that runs today through Friday the 14th.

Organizers say the available jobs range from entry-level to management positions.

To see what's open and to submit an application go to the WorkSource VJF site.

If you don't have a computer, you can go to one of the seven Work Source Career Centers or one of FSCJ's six Career Development Centers and use one of theirs.

Day 2 of the Jacksonville Jaguars 2-day job fair is this evening from 5-to-9 p.m. in the East Touchdown Club at EverBank Field.

Available positions include food service and guest services.
