An upcoming all-day event at the University of North Florida will focus on environmental issues.
The 2013 EPB/UNF Environmental Symposium, titled "Innovation, Conservation and Sustainability," is a collaboration between the City of Jacksonville's Environmental Protection Board and the university.
The event will bring together residents, government agencies, utilities, and innovators in a forum designed to foster an atmosphere of cooperation in environmental achievement.
We spoke with environmental engineering consultant David Bruderly, who will be presenting at the symposium.
"My plan is to present a summary of basic facts about the economic and environmental impacts of motor fuels and the state of alternative motor fuel and advanced vehicle technology," he said.
"I will then propose a roadmap that will help Jacksonville business and community leaders decide to make deployment of non-petroleum motor fuels an economic development priority. And I'll challenge business and civic leaders to be proactive on this issue."
The event is set for Friday, August 23rd, at UNF's Adam W. Herbert University Center.
