Slides, seesaws, and water sprayers were all on the agenda at a meeting Tuesday afternoon of city "play experts" at the Lenox Court housing complex.
Those are some of the features that local children are asking to be included at a unique new multi-generational playground being planned for the Oakland Terrace housing complex.
The playground is being built through a partnership between Ability Housing of Northeast Florida, health insurance company Humana, and KaBOOM!, a national non-profit organization that has built more than 2,300 playgrounds.
The customized playground will be funded primarily by Humana and builders will use the children's drawings, along with those made by local adults who also attended yesterday's event, to design it.
The new playground will include exercise stations and walking paths for adults and seniors. It is scheduled to be built on Saturday, October 19.
