As Jaguars fall to Colts, fans look for answers: The Jaguars are among four teams to start the season with four losses, replacing annoyance with traffic caused by the closure of the Mathews Bridge with lamentations about the state of the team. Former Pennsylvania governor to headline Fla. Democratic conference: Former Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell will be the keynote speaker at the Florida Democratic Party's state conference on Oct. 26. (Miami Herald)

Mosquito wars continue as battlefield changes: State officials are contending with many new factors in the fight against mosquitos in Florida. (The New York Times)

Deadly bacteria found in several counties: The bacteria vibrio vulnificus was found to have killed a Flagler County man and cases have also been reported in Volusia, Brevard, and Hillsborough Counties. (Orlando Sentinel)

UF to offer online bachelor's programs: The University of Florida will begin offering fully online bachelor's degree programs through a new program called UF Online. (The Tampa Tribune)
